Where does the lottery revenue go

Lottery revenue is a significant source of revenue for a state. Most states often employ lottery proceeds for charity and civic purposes

Usually, the revenues are spent for Education, health, government employee pension funds, Special Olympic etc.

Yale and Harvard, famous universities, were lottery-funded. This was another source of army funding during the American-British war.

Arizona had $287.83 million in the 2021 fiscal year. 17 mandatory government aided programs are funded by its lottery revenues

Additionally, Arizona's general fund receives most lottery revenue. This money also funds state health, human, and higher education.

New York is the state with highest lottery revenue. A good amount of the revenue goes to the state’s public K-12 schools and other schools.

The schools in New York got a total of $78.7 billion from these revenues starting in 1967.

Indiana is the only state to contribute a significant amount of lottery earnings to police, firefighters, teachers, and other public worker pensions.

Georgia gives excellent students lottery scholarships. This grant helped 2 million students attend college since 1993.

The lottery proceeds in Maryland will be used to renovate stadiums. Initially, this revenue was used to pay off a loan for the construction of two stadiums.
